William "Bill" Thomas Sturgeon Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on December 29,2024. Born on September 8, 1943 to William & Mary Sturgeon. Graduate of St. X High School in Louisville, KY.
Bill was proceeded in death by his parents William & Mary Sturgeon, his siblings, Donald Sturgeon, Mary Sumner, & Mary Ann Warren, and his previous wife, Linda (Geary) Sturgeon.
Survived by his devoted wife Emilie (Robinette) Sturgeon, his children, William Sturgeon III (Joyce), Tracy Carrillo (Carlos), & Derek Robinette (step son); Grandchildren, Miranda, William, Cheaney, Carrisa (Tyler), & Noah (Kenzie); Great grandchildren, Roman, Houston, Talon, & Gatlin, and countless nieces & nephews & friends that called him ' Uncle Bill'
Bill wore many hats during his lifetime. His career as a firefighter with the Louisville Fire Department to a Mechanical Supervisor with Norfolk Southern Railroad. After retirement, he continued working at Peterbilt in Southern Indiana.
Bill was a man of many talents & passions. He was well known for his homemade wine & whole hog sausage. He was a Shriner & an active member for 50 years as a Mason. He had an adventurous spirit & love of fishing & hunting.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill’s remarkable life at a visitation on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. A service honoring his memory will follow at 4 p.m.
