Virginia M. (Melton) Dale

Palmyra, IN, Virginia M. (Melton) Dale, age 78, passed away at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, on October 19, 2021. She was born in New Albany, IN, on September 04, 1943, to Sherrill B. and Lucile H. Melton. Virginia Married Richard Dale on July 31, 1965 and spent 56 wonderful years together. She graduated Morgan Township High School in 1961, she also attended Indiana Central College. Virginia worked and retired from Farm Credit Banks of Louisville after over 30 years of service. After retirement Virginia worked as the Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Palmyra. She was member of Palmyra United Methodist Church, where she sang in the traditional choir, served as the tithes and offerings recorder, and volunteered at the church thrift store. Virginia was also a member of the Morgan Township Alumni Committee.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister Gleeanna Elizabeth Melton.  

Virginia is survived by her husband; one daughter, Kimberly Dale; two brothers Jerry (Barbara) Melton, Frank Melton; one sister, Sheryl Melton; one brother-in-law, Woody Dale; one sister-in-law, Margaret (Dale) Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 23, 2021 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be the same day from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra, IN.
