Theresa Catherine (Kirchner) Patterson

Theresa Catherine (Kirchner) Patterson, age 88, of Pekin, IN passed away on Monday, June 26th, 2023 peacefully in her home. Theresa was born on May 20th, 1935 in Louisville KY, the daughter of John Kirchner and Mary (Schmitt) Kirchner. She was the 12th born of 13 children.

She was raised in Louisville, KY and graduated from Ursuline Academy. She married Wayne Patterson in 1966 and had two daughters. She wore many hats over the course of her life. As a young woman she was a Milk Market Administrator for Mellwood Dairy, and was a Nurse Aide at Saint Anthony Hospital in Louisville. During the second half of her life she was a Professional Nanny and loved every child that came into her care as if they were her own. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Louisville. She served on 9 different committees at church and assisted with Mass every morning. She also loved to cook and dance. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 5 sisters, husband Wayne, and daughter Ruth Patterson.

She is survived by her older sister Lelia Kirchner; her daughter Tina Hinkebein (Bill), two granddaughters; Jessica Hinkebein, Kelley Manus (Cody); and 17 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on the same day at Love Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
