Shirley Ruth (Davis) Kennedy

New Salisbury, IN, Shirley Ruth (Davis) Kennedy, age 83, passed away on September 16, 2021, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. She was born to Vance Sr. and Dorothy (Wright) Davis in Corydon, IN, on December 2, 1938. Shirley married Walter Lee Kennedy Jr. on September 02, 1966. She was a loving mother and homemaker, who enjoyed watching NASCAR, Hallmark movies, and spending time with friends and family.    

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Vance Davis Jr.; and one sister, Rita Davis.

She is survived by her Son, Dale (Alyssia) Kennedy; daughter, Cheryl (Joe Farnsley) Kennedy; Son, Christopher “Thumper” (Jennifer) Kennedy; Seven grandchildren, Dustin Mayfield, Dylan Mayfield, Hailey Kennedy, Savannah Kennedy, Natalie Kennedy, Emily Kennedy, and Megan Manning; as well her faithful companion “Penny”.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday September 21,2021 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN.  Visitation will be the same day from 11 a.m. until time of service at Love Funeral Home. Interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery at a later date.
