Sheryl Trowbridge Obituary

Palmyra, IN, Sheryl Elaine (Allen) Trowbridge, age 74, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 13, at the Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown, Indiana. She was born in New Albany, Indiana, on November 14, 1946, to Russell and Dorothy (Boaz) Allen. Sheryl married Harvey Trowbridge on August 21, 1965, and they enjoyed fifty-five years together before his death in October of 2020. She was a graduate of Morgan TWP High School, class of 1964. Sheryl was the third of four generations of Allen’s Market ownership in Palmyra, Indiana, where she was the office manager. Sheryl was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, She was an avid reader who enjoyed vacations to Gatlinburg and St. Augustine Beach. Her favorite pastime was yelling at the TV during Indiana basketball games, utilizing the same verbal skills as Coach Bobby Knight.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband Harvey Trowbridge.

 

Sheryl is survived by her sons, Scott (Cathy) Trowbridge, Brad Trowbridge; sisters, Jane (Doug) Buchanan, Ruth Ann Allen, and Carrie (John) Merchant; and her cherished grandchildren, Madison Trowbridge and Jake Trowbridge, who lovingly called her Nana.

 

Cremation was chosen.  A graveside service will be held at Palmyra Cemetery on August 28, 2021 at 12 p.m.
