Sarah Jean Levell, age 86, of New Salisbury, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025.
She was born on November 16, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana, to William and Jean (Condra) Collings. Sarah attended New Albany High School. A devoted homemaker, she was known for her boundless love as a mother, wife, and “Granny.”
On March 18, 1972, she married Clark Levell, and together they built a warm and welcoming home in New Salisbury. She was a member of North West Christian Church in Depauw, where she enjoyed fellowship and community.
Sarah had a vibrant spirit and many talents. She found joy in riding horses, painting, flower arranging, decorating, and making music on various instruments. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clark Levell; and her sisters, Alinda June Collings and Bette Jane Losson.
Sarah is survived by her children: Tim (Lynn) Pope, Melody Pope, Leanne (Rick) Wolf, and Charla Levell; her grandchildren: Richard Wolf, Gabe (Jennifer) Wolf, Zeb Carroll, Elley Levell, and Mattie Pope; and her great-grandchildren: Lena Wolf, Remi Wolf, and Hattie Carroll; sister, Jonelle Thompson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation was chosen, with interment at Central Barren Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sarah’s name to People & Animal Learning Services (PALS), 7644 West Elwren Rd., Bloomington, IN 47403.
Sarah will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in all who were blessed to know her.
