Ruth Hardin Obituary

Ruth Ann Hardin, age 75, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024 at Paoli Health and Living in Paoli, IN. Born on February 26, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of John Heaton and Alma (Fry) Lawson.

Ruth dedicated many years of her life to retail, proudly serving at the French Lick Resort. Her vibrant spirit and love for family and community were evident in everything she did. Ruth found joy in caring for her six beloved birds and two grand dogs, and her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She cherished her time at church and loved participating in activities at Paoli Health and Living, where she formed a close bond with her best friend and roommate, Cheryl, often described as "Thelma and Louise."

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over forty years, Paul Hardin, her daughter Michele Brough, two sons, John Frederick Dearborn and Timothy Wayne Hardin, two granddaughters, Moriah and Kendra Brough, one step-granddaughter, Tristen Duarte; a grandson, Chance Amburgey, and two great-grandsons, Josiah Brough and Jaydon Babcock, two great-granddaughters Angel and Kendall Babcock. She is also preceded by her brothers Johnny Ray and Jackie D. Heaton.

She is survived by her loving siblings: Lily (Darren) Gilmore, Cindy Hanover, Agnes Gabbard, and Leo Gross. Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Jerry (Lisa) Dearborn, John Paul Blankenship, Marcia (Terry) Blankenship, and Paul T. (Sabrina) Hardin, Jr., as well as stepchildren Niki (Scott) Blankenship and JR Blankenship. Her memory will continue to shine through her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who include Israel (Jacob) Phillips, Danielle (Keith) Mullaly, Christopher (Heather) Little, Jaela Brough, Joshua Brough, Hayley Amburgey, seven great grandchildren, Grayson, Chase, and Rosie Mullaly, Madelynn, Joseph, Everleigh, Elijah Brough; and one great- grandson on the way. as well as one step grandson, Dallas Blankenship, and one Step Granddaughter Kingston Cribbs 

Cremation has been chosen, and arrangements are entrusted to Love Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
