Rita Lucille (Schilmiller) Fessel

Depauw, IN, Lucille (Schilmiller) Fessel, age 99, passed away on September 15, 2022 at Harrison Springs Health Center in Corydon, IN. She was born in Rosewood, Indiana, on January 21, 1923 to Louis and Ruth (Brown) Schilmiller. She married Clyde C. Fessel on August 19, 1941. Lucille worked as the Vice President of the Old Union Bank & Trust, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of St Michaels Catholic Church in Bradford, IN, as well as the St. Michaels Quilting Club, and St. Anne’s Society. Lucille enjoyed quilting, gardening, outdoor activities, but most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Kutter, Frances Cunningham; three brothers, Louis Schilmiller, Vincent Schilmiller, Lawrence Schilmiller; and one son-in-law Jim Wise.

Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Mary (Richard) Jones, Carol Wise, Rita (Mike) Kincaid; three sons, Donald (Vickie) Fessel, Robert (Vickie) Fessel, John (Glenna) Fessel; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bradford, IN. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Love Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lucille’s name to St. Michaels Catholic Church at 1100 Farmers, Lane NE Greenville, IN 47124.
