Richard Lee Jackey

Hardinsburg, IN, Richard Lee Jackey, age 64, passed away peacefully on August 04, 2021 surrounded by his family at ST. Vincent Salem Hospital. Rick was born in Louisville, KY, on August 23, 1956 to William and Geraldine (Lee) Jackey. He attended Indiana Southeast College. Rick enjoyed cooking out, UofL Football, collecting dragon figures and spending time with friends and family. He was a loving and caring man, who on many occasions donated his long hair to the Locks of Love. Rick was always overjoyed to be mistaken by a child as Santa or Jerry Garcia by adults at concerts.   

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Rick is survived by his son, Andrew Scott Jackey; two sisters, Kathy Jackey, Debra (Tim) Kirchgessner; three brothers, Steven (Susan) Jackey, Timothy (Sue) Jackey, Jeffrey (Yolonda) Jackey; two grandchildren, Eric Collard, Aiden Jackey; several nieces and nephews; and one faithful companion “Mona”.

A memorial service will be held on Monday August 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be the same day from 9 a.m. until time of service. Cremation was chosen. Love Funeral Home is in charge of services.
