Oscar M. Claywell, age 89, of Fredericksburg, IN, passed away on July 2, 2024. He was born on April 22, 1935, to Owen and Lorine Claywell in Columbia, KY.
Oscar dedicated his career to Bush Trucking as a diesel mechanic, retiring after years of diligent service. On May 27, 1978, he married Betty (Bowlin) Claywell, and they made their home together in Fredericksburg, IN. Oscar found joy in simple pleasures like mowing his yard, working on trucks, and spending quiet moments outdoors. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren, Collyn, Maverick, Corbin, Bennett, and Kynnlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lorine Claywell; his sons, Scott Claywell and Marc Claywell; his daughter, Annette Moon; his brother, Floyd Claywell; and his sisters, Rebecca Grant and Catherine Darnell.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Betty Claywell; his sons, Tim (Kara) Claywell and Brad (Alecia) Claywell; his daughter, Jackie (Billy) Stinnett; his brother, Calvin (Amina) Claywell; and his sister, Edith (Elbert) Hadley. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him.
Visitation will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on Monday, July 08, 2024, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 pm. Interment will take place at Kays Chapel Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
Oscar M. Claywell will be remembered for his hard work, his love for his family, and his gentle spirit. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace. and remember, " Be Careful ".
