Olen Emerson Crane, 86, of Fredericksburg, Indiana, passed away on November 13, 2024. Born on January 27, 1938, in Fredericksburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Charles and Bethel (Young) Crane. Olen led a life dedicated to his family, his faith, and his community.
Olen graduated from Hardinsburg High School and went on to serve his community for many years, retiring from the Naval Ordinance Station in Louisville, Kentucky. He faithfully attended Fellowship Baptist Church, he was known for his joyful spirit and love of singing in the church. His faith was a central part of his life, and he was a steadfast presence in his church until his health no longer permitted him to attend.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Lee) Crane; his son, Kevin Crane; his parents; and his siblings, including three sisters, Edith Cooper, Helen Byerly, and Ellen Maupin, as well as three brothers, James, Marvin, and Charles Crane.
Olen is survived by his daughter, Shawna (Tim) Lewis; his two grandsons, Brendan Lewis and Zack Lewis; his brother, Arvil (Ann) Crane; his loving and caring niece, Denise Coots, along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him deeply.
Visitation will be held on November 16,2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 304 West Cheshire Lane, Hardinsburg, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial at Livonia Cemetery in Livonia, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, Olen requested that donations be made in his memory to Fellowship Baptist Church at the above address, a place that meant so much to him in his later years of life.
Olen will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of Jesus, and his commitment to those around him. He touched many lives with his kindness and generosity. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
