Norma Jean (Canary) Scott, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Greenville, IN, on August 14, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on April 22, 1933, in Shoals, IN, to George and Rachael Canary. On September 15, 1951, she married the love of her life, Roy W. Scott, and together they spent nearly 74 years building a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Norma was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a pillar of strength and kindness, always going out of her way to help others and making everyone around her feel important. She was an active member of Chapel Christian Church and served as a den mother with the Cub Scouts. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and hunting for treasures at local yard sales.
Norma’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Roy W. Scott, her daughters Jacqueline Daniels (John), Darlene Arnold, and son Roy W. Scott Jr. (Sharon Smith). She was a proud grandmother to Tara Watson, Jennifer Incantalupo, Jodie Scott, Jessica Daniels, Clinton Southerland, Roy Scott III, and Jeannette Senn. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren on the way.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rachael Canary, as well as her siblings: Iris Nedoba, Patricia Coffman, Dan Canary, Jeff Canary, and Jimmy Canary.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, IN, and again on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Christian Church in Borden, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Christian Church, with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Christian Church Cemetery.
