Mary L. (Demunbrun) Welch

Palmyra, IN, Mary Lewis (Demunbrun) Welch, age 86, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Floyd surrounded by her family on March 17, 2022. She was born in Park City, KY, on January 28, 1936 to Thomas and Louie (Beckner) Demunbrun. Mary was a jack of all trades working for the Phillip Morris Company, selling real estate and insurance, as well as working for several group homes. Mary enjoyed square dancing, yard selling, watching old westerns, and helping others.

She is preceded in death by her husband of her first marriage, David H. Welch; Husband of her second marriage, Elmer Carrington; one son, David W. Welch; one grandchild, Khriston E. Engleman; two brothers, Oren Sampson Demunbrun and John Demunbrun.

Mary is survived by her three children, Edward Ray (Cathy) Bottoms, Debbie A. (Raymond) Wittman, Debra D, Bottoms; daughter-in-law, Sharon Buckman; four grandchildren, Jennifer Welch, Joshua W. Bottoms, Jason Bottoms, Kaitlin Engleman; eight great-grandchildren; one sister Eva Shannon Graham; several nieces and nephews; as well as two faithful companions “Candy” and “Chicken”.  

 Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. EDT, on Monday March 21, 2022 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT, on Sunday, March 20, 2022, and again on March 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Tunnel Hill Cemetery in Georgetown, IN. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Kindred Hospice Foundation at 391 Quartermaster Ct, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
