Mary Ann (James) Gibbs

Mary Ann (James) Gibbs, age 74, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.

Mary was born on May 3, 1950, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, to Wing and Muriel (Stearns) James. She spent her career as an Account Specialist for IAC. On February 9, 1968, Mary married James Gibbs, and together they built a life in Palmyra, where they shared many cherished memories.

Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life-gardening, reading, and spending time in the outdoors. Above all, she adored her family and treasured every moment with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Wing Taylor James; mother, Muriel James; brother, Forest James; and grandson, Stephen Babcock.

She is survived by her husband, James Gibbs; her sister, Linda James; daughters, Dory (Glenn) Padgett and Deanna Prather; grandchildren, Josy (Logan) Haley, Grace Stafford, Alexandra (Sean) McKinney, Gabby Babcock, Donavan (Randi) Babcock; great-grandchildren, Ezra Haley, Elliott Haley, Evelyn Haley, Dax Babcock, Magnolia McKinney, and Maevyn McKinney; as well as many others who considered her their "Grammy".

Cremation was chosen, and Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
