Margaret Juanita Jacobi, age 91, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025 at Nazareth Home in Louisville, KY .
She was born on April 11, 1933, in Corydon, IN, to H. Stanley and Nellis M. (Housefield) Pflanz. Margaret graduated from Corydon High School, Class of 1951. She dedicated much of her life to teaching piano and caring for her family as a devoted homemaker. On May 16, 1953, she married Melvin Jacobi, and together they built a loving home in Palmyra, IN.
A faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, IN, Margaret found joy in singing in the church choir. She was also a talented artist, an avid reader, and had a deep passion for archaeological history.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Alice “Fofie” Fey, Grace “Sissy” Gwynn, and Nellys Ann “Neddy” Dean; and her brothers, Henry “Higgy” Pflanz, Billy Pflanz, and Johnny Pflanz.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Melvin Jacobi; her children, Jane (Brian) Loppnow, Tony (Diana) Jacobi, Laura (Dennis) Miller, Todd (Donna) Jacobi, and Elizabeth (Paul) Magee; her grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Rich, Jason (Hollie) Rich, Sloane Barnett, Lindsay (Brian) Miller, Jacob Miller, Noah Miller, Sam Jacobi, Molly (Kyle) Ward, Gavin (Shauna) Magee, Christian (Cassidy) Magee, 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ida Stilger, Ginny Garbrough, Amy (Herb) Schneider, and Rick (Jeannie) Pflanz.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN, and again on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, IN.
A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 11am on Monday, March 3, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Michaels Catholic Church Music Fund.
