Louise Evelyn (Zink) Byerley

Louise Evelyn (Zink) Byerley, age 101, of Fredericksburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026.

She was born on September 26, 1924, in Salem, Indiana, to George and Florence (Loyd) Zink. Louise attended school in Fredericksburg, where she later built a life centered on faith, family, and home.

Louise was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother. She married Forest “Ernie” Byerley, and together they made their home in Fredericksburg, Indiana. She was a member of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. Louise found joy in cooking, tending to flowers, and lovingly caring for her home and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Zink; her husband, Forrest “Ernie” Byerley; her daughter, Sharon Crane; two sisters, Pauline Crone and Maysel Dresselhaus; and her brother, Marvin Zink.

Survivors include her son, Wayne (Susie) Byerley; her brother, Dennis (Laura) Zink; her sister, Carol (Terry) Martin; eight grandchildren Including, Allie McDonald, and Kelly McPhearson; several great-grandchildren including, Charli Chastain, Lillie McDonald, and Marie McDonald, as well as many great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Horner’s Chapel Cemetery.
