Linda L. (Wingler) Smith

Palmyra, IN, Linda L. Smith, passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital on Tuesday August 9, 2022. Linda was born on June 3, 1946 to Asa and Loretta (Uhl) Wingler in Palmyra, IN. She was a lifelong member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church in Bradford, IN. Linda was an active member, serving in many capacities in the Parish. She was also an active member of the Palmyra Lions Club. Linda married John E. Smith Jr. on March 31, 1967. She was a graduate of Providence High School in Clarksville, IN. Linda was employed by Bolton Insurance Company for thirty plus years.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Joseph Wingler; sister, Martha Jane Wingler; and brother-in-law, William O’Brien.

Linda is survived by her sister, Mary Ann O’Brien; two nieces, Debbie (David) Parsons, Teresa (Dan) Limon; one nephew, Asa Wingler, three great nieces, Hailee Parsons, Jaden Wingler, Kacee Limon; three great nephews, Brady Benskin, Kyle Parsons, and Joseph Limon.   

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday August 13, 2022, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 11400 Farmers Lane NE, Greenville, IN 47124. Visitation will be held on Friday August 12, 2022,  at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN, from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  and again on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Love Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Michaels Cemetery in Bradford.
