In Loving Memory of Josh Creed Hobbs

Josh Creed Hobbs, age 86, of Bloomington, passed away on December 28, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1937, to Vincent and Juanita (Shoop) Hobbs in Dryden, VA. Creed was a dedicated farmer and skilled in construction, embodying the values of hard work and resilience. On June 9, 1963, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Jane Standish Hobbs, and together they created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Creed had a zest for life, finding joy in pulling pranks, joking around, and sharing laughter with those around him. His warm and welcoming spirit endeared him to many, and he cherished spending time with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Creed is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jeffrey Hobbs. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by those who survive him.

Josh is survived by his loving wife of 60 years and six months, Eleanor Jane Hobbs; his children, David Hobbs, Susan Jane (Jim) Langley, and Tony Scott (Elizabeth) Hobbs; as well as his grandchildren, Tyler (Sierra) King, Brooke (Ryan) Jerome, Leah Hobbs, Joshua Hobbs, Ella Hobbs, Audra Hobbs, his  great-grandchildren, Kainsley Jerome, Emberly Bulington, and Maverick Dale King: his sisters, Billie Jean Hobbs, Wanda (Bob) Welch, and Rebecca Lou Purkhiser;

A visitation to honor Creed's life will be held on Saturday, January 06, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am, with a celebration of life to honor Creed's legacy from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Palmyra Community Center.

A procession to Stampers Creek Cemetery at 31 North County Road 350 East in Paoli, IN, will depart from Love Funeral Home at 2:30 pm. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Josh Creed Hobbs, a man whose love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
