John "Fritz" Gettelfinger

John "Fritz" Gettelfinger, age 84, of Palmyra passed peacefully at his home on April 6, 2023.

He was born on August 21, 1938 to John and Mary Gettelfinger in Palmyra, IN. Fritz was a driver for the TNT Holland Trucking Co. He enjoyed raising cattle, farming, and mowing his grass. Fritz was a big fan of Nascar and Indiana University Basketball. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel 1221 in New Albany,IN, and served as a Grand Knight for three consecutive years. 

Fritz is preceded in death by his mother, Mary C Gettelfinger; father, John H Gettelfinger; brother, Donald Gettelfinger; sister, Pauline Receveur;  

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Gettelfinger, Rhonda Gettelfinger-Curd, Greg (Gretchen) Gettelfinger, Mary Gettelfinger; sisters, Ann Knable, Hilda Thieneman, MaryEvelyn Sprigler, Marcella Stumler, Delores Striegel; Brothers, Joe Gettelfinger, Dave Gettelfinger; Grandchildren, Glenn Gettelfinger, Rachel Gettelfinger, James Curd; several great-grandchildren; as well as his caregivers Ronnie and Christy. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11pm on April 14,2023 at St Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, IN.

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday April 13, 2023, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN, and again on Friday April 14, 2023, at St Michael Catholic Church in Bradford from 10am until time of service. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Fritz's name to Knight of Columbus Counsel 1221, 809 East Main St. New Albany, IN 47150
