In Loving Memory of John Robert Simpson

John Robert Simpson, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born on May 27, 1939, to his parents, Norman Robert "Pete" Simpson and Golda (Callam) Simpson. John was united in marriage with his beloved wife, Wanda (White) Simpson, on December 22, 1960. 

John's journey through life led him down various career paths, initially working as a skilled tool and die maker and later becoming a self-employed welder. He took pride in his work, demonstrating dedication and expertise in his chosen profession. John's proudest accomplishment was his forty-two years of sobriety and his involvement in AA. He enjoyed whittling, spending time with friends at the Palmyra, Sav-A-Step, and being with his family.  

John was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Golda Simpson, wife Wanda (White) Simpson and one brother, Donnie Simpson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his surviving family members. John is survived by his son, Brad (Kerrie) Simpson, and four daughters, Johnna Bledsoe, Janine (Jeff) West, Janelle (CT) Vest, and Sally Banet.

His legacy also lives on through three grandsons: Nathan Simpson, Nicholas and Zackery Sneed as well as four granddaughters: Serena Simpson, Isabelle and Amelia Banet, and Delana Bledsoe. John's great-grandson, Liam Simpson, brings further joy to the family tree.

In addition to his immediate family, John is survived by his brother, Kenny Simpson.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023, and again on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10 am to 1 pm at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana.

A funeral service to celebrate John's life will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1 pm at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. Following the service, interment will be at Horners Chapel Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Indiana, where John will find eternal rest.

John Robert Simpson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
