John Alvin Jones

Palmyra, IN, age 78, John Alvin Jones went to his heavenly home on
January 27, 2021, he was surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Barbourville Kentucky on August 29, 1942 to Beve and Hattie (Bailey) Jones. He married Phyllis Marie (Evaline) Jones on November 20, 1960. John worked as a machinist for the Sonoco Company and later was a delivery driver for Jones Machine and Tool.  He enjoyed hard work, reading the Bible, and helping others.

John is preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Rose (Dan) McCarty; son Danny (Lisa) Jones; six grandchildren, Jeffrey McCarty, Eric (Sam) McCarty, Cassie (Josh) Gustin, Jessica (Jimmy) Ward, Will (Kaleigh) Jones, and Lincoln (Dallas) Jones; fifteen great- grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday January 31, 2021 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday January 30, 2021 and again on Sunday January 31, from 1p.m. until time of service at Love Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John’s name to Hosparus Health at 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive Louisville, Ky 40205. interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra, IN.
