Jody Alan Silverthorn

Jody Alan Silverthorn, age 53, of Salem, IN, passed away on October 13, 2024. Born on January 22, 1971, to Robert and Earlene (Wood) Silverthorn in Salem, Jody was a beloved member of his community and a cherished family man.

A graduate of West Washington High School, Class of 1989, Jody dedicated his career to trucking, retiring as a driver for Jacobi Sales in Palmyra, IN. He was an member of the Salem Church of the Nazarene, where he formed lasting friendships and connections.

Jody had a passion for the outdoors, 49ers Football, he loved riding his Harley, boating, and fishing. He cherished the time spent in his home shop, working alongside his nephew Ethan and brother Daniel. Known for his warm heart and friendly nature, Jody never met a stranger and always made time for those around him.

Jody is preceded in death by his cousin Donald Mattox.

He is survived by his lifetime companion Sandra Deaton; father Robert Silverthorn, mother Earlene Silverthorn, daughter Hannah (Dathan) Long, sons Ben Silverthorn and Tad Silverthorn, sister Donna (Andy) Brazzell, brothers Adam (Evelyn) Silverthorn and Daniel (Miranda) Silverthorn, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN, followed by funeral services at 2 PM. Jody will be laid to rest at Livonia Cemetery in Livonia, IN.
