James Boyd McPheeters

James Boyd McPheeters, 47, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on November 28, 2025.

James was born on December 9, 1977, in Salem, Indiana, to Roger and Darlene (Davis) McPheeters. He graduated from East Washington High School in Pekin, Indiana, with the Class of 1996. Throughout his life, James worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for several companies, a job he took great pride in.

A lifelong resident of Salem, James loved motorcycles, dirt bikes, and spending time outdoors. He especially cherished time spent with his family and friends, and nothing meant more to him than his son and his nephews.

James is preceded in death by his father, Roger McPheeters; his maternal grandfather, Olen Davis; and his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Dessi McPheeters.

He is survived by his mother, Darlene McPheeters; his son, Xander McPheeters; his brother, Chuck (Lori) McPheeters; nephews Lane McPheeters, Landon McPheeters, Layton (Mallory) McPheeters, and Lee Roper McPheeters; his grandmother, Rachel Davis; and his great-niece, Quinn Roselynn McPheeters.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana.

Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM.

Cremation will take place after the services.
