Harry Porenski Obituary

Corydon, Harry Stephen Porenski Jr., age 75, passed away on December 01, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN. Harry was born in Louisville, KY, on June 23, 1945 to Harry Stephen Sr. and Nellie (Jefferies) Porenski. He married Geraldine Crawford on August 19, 1967 and they have enjoyed 53 years together. Harry was a member of Central Barren United Methodist Church and the New Salisbury Lions Club, where he served as a past District Governor. He enjoyed model trains, astronomy, photography, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. Harry retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in 2001 where he worked as a Materials Engineer for more than thirty years. He loved to spend time with friends and family, especially his grandkids.

Harry is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Crawford) Porenski; Daughter, Lisa (Jake) Hardegree; Sister, Robin (John) Stankiewicz; three grandchildren, Hannah, Seth, and Hadyn; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Central Barren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to Central Barren United Methodist Church at 11170 Hwy 135, New Salisbury, IN 47161 or the New Salisbury Lions Club.
