Glenda Kay (Miller) Riggs, age 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on December 17, 2024. She was born on November 1, 1942, in New Albany, IN, to Kermit and Mary Miller.
Glenda dedicated several years of her life to serving in the Federal Government, after which she pursued her calling and became a pastor in the United Methodist Church. Her deep faith and commitment to her church were central to her life. In August 1959, she married Garlin Riggs, and together they built a life in New Salisbury, IN.
Glenda was an active member of her community and was involved in a widow/widowers' club in New Albany. She enjoyed playing Bunco and cherished the time spent being an integral part of her church family. Her warm and caring spirit touched many lives, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Garlin Riggs; and her great-grandson, Jase Emily.
Glenda is survived by her daughters, Kim (Tim) Walsh and Tammy (Mark) Foley; her brothers, Frank (Linda) Miller and Terry (Ruth) Miller; her granddaughters, Elyce (Jason) Emily, Amanda Foley, Delaney Walsh, and Raegen Walsh; her great-grandchildren, Payton Emily, Gavin Pearl, and great-great-grandson, Ezra Pearl.
Visitation will be held on December 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on December 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, IN. A funeral service will follow on December 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM, with burial at Greenville Cemetery in Greenville, IN.
Glenda’s loving presence will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
