Gladis Ellen (Brumley) Cooley

Pekin, IN, Gladis Ellen (Brumley) Cooley, age 93, passed away peacefully at the family farm on January 21, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jeffersontown, KY on January 11, 1928 to George and Oar Lee (Emerson) Brumley. Gladis married Elmer Ray Cooley in 1946. She worked and retired from the Phillip Morris Company in Louisville, KY. Gladis enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidering, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Rebecca Posey; Son, Robert Cooley; two brothers, Willis and Lewis Brumley; and two grandchildren Scott Sanders and Yancy Simpson.

 Gladis is survived by her two daughters Cynthia (Ron) Patton, Mary (Kenny) Gibson; two sons, Elmer Ray Jr. (Eileen) Cooley, Charles (Deborah) Cooley; seventeen grandchildren; twenty- three great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Love Funeral Home on Sunday January 24, 2021 at 2p.m. Visitation will be the same day from 10a.m. until time of service. Due to Covid restrictions of only 25 gathering at one time, a Facebook live stream will start on Love Funeral Homes Facebook page at 2p.m. Donations can be made in Gladis’s name to a charity of your choice.
