Frederick Lee Polen

Frederick Lee Polen, age 73, of New Salisbury, IN, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025.

He was born on December 13, 1951, in New Albany, IN, to Roger and Edna (Bobbit) Polen. Frederick spent many years as a welder at Jewels Engineering, and after retiring, he dedicated his time to working with horses in Corydon, IN, where he worked as a Trotter.

In his personal life, Frederick found joy in riding horses, spending time with friends, and caring for animals. He had a vibrant and distinctive personality, one that made him a memorable character to all who knew him. 

Frederick is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Edna Polen; his wife, Vickie Polen; two sons, William West and Roger Polen; three brothers, Lewis Polen, Herman Polen, and Robert Ambers; and his sister, JoAnn Polen.

He is survived by his son, Frederick (Cynthia) Polen, II; daughters, Stephanie Polen and Shawna Weathers; grandchildren, Frederick Polen, III, Thomas Polen, Emily Polen, Tiffany Age, Richard Gaddis, Samatha Gaddis, William West, and Trey West; his brothers, Roger David Polen, and Edwin Polen, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on January 10, 2025. Following the service, cremation will take place.
