It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Forrest Wayne Terhune Sr., who peacefully left this world on October 17, 2023, at Kings Daughter Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Forrest was born in Louisville, KY, on August 20, 1948, to Ernest and Dorothy (Balke) Terhune. On September 28, 2001, Forrest married Beverly (Rousey) Terhune. Throughout his life, Forrest pursued a fulfilling career as a truck driver, dedicating many years to this profession before retiring. He was a proud and active member of Teamsters Local 89. His dedication didn't stop at his job; Forrest was also a member of the Jackson and Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Departments, where he selflessly served his community.
In addition to his work, Forrest and his beloved wife, Beverly, shared a deep passion for animal welfare. They lovingly ran the Critter for Christ Rescue and Ministry, demonstrating their compassionate hearts and their dedication to the well-being of animals in need.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Terhune, as well as his sister Patricia Terhune and four brothers, Ernest "Jay" Terhune, Carl Terhune, Donald Terhune, and Gerald Lee Terhune. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Forrest is survived by his wife, Beverly, two daughters, Stephanie and Kimberly, as well as one son, Forrest Jr. He also shared his love and guidance with one step-son, Robert Todd Smith, three brothers, Frederick Mark, Michael Joseph and William Terhune, and extended his caring spirit to two foster children, Tyler Lane Smith and Morgan Kaye Smith, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and condolences from friends and loved ones during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, they kindly request that donations be made to Critter for Christ Rescue and Ministry at Centra Credit Union,1208 South Jackson Street, Salem, IN 47167, in Forrest's memory, allowing his passion for animals to live on.
