Edna Runnell (Edwards) Gilley, age 92, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on March 24, 2024. She was born on January 31, 1932, in Edmonton, Kentucky, to the late Maurice and Mabel (Cummins) Edwards.
Runnell dedicated over three decades of her life to Pearce Gas, where she served as a Receptionist with dedication and grace, retiring after 30 plus years of service. On August 2, 1947, she married the love of her life, Evert R. Gilley, and together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories in Geenville, Indiana. Runnell was a devout member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness in Floyd Knobs, Indiana, finding comfort and community in her faith.
In her free time, Runnell enjoyed ministry work and traveling, especially to the Smoky Mountains. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her cherished family and friends.
Runnell is preceded in death by her, husband, parents; daughter, Diane Wills; two brothers, Gerald Edwards, Russell Edwards; three half-sisters, Carol Edwards, Dorlis White; half-brother, J.W. Edwards. She is survived by her loving children, Patricia (Keith) King, Richard Gilley, Ronnie (Teri) Gilley, and David (Margjory) Gilley. She is also survived by her half-brother, Dennis Edwards, half-sister, Phyllis (C.G.) Bray, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana, followed by funeral services at 1 pm. Burial will take place at Greenville Cemetery.
