Douglas Nevil Sr.

Palmyra, IN, Douglas E. Nevil Sr., age 69, passed away at his home on May 22, 2022. Doug was born in Louisville, KY, on April 13, 1953, to Melvin Eulis and Georgia L. (Bridges) Nevil. Doug worked and retired from Rumpke as a sanitation Engineer. He enjoyed playing pool, watching his grandchildren play sports, mowing grass, and spending time with his family.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Nevil, Donald Wayne Nevil; two sisters, Shirley Armstrong, Cathy Mitchell, two son-in-laws, Frankie Pierce, and Armon Keene.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Nevil; five children, Cheryl Nevil, Doug (Joanna) Nevil Jr., Josh (Paula) Nevil, Rhonda (Bubba) Tussey, Becky (Dana) Gilley, eighteen grandchildren; Sixteen great-grandchildren; and three expected great- grandchildren; three sisters, Lela (Bernie) Fey, Dottie (Daymond) Geary, Margaret (James) Geary; two brother-in-laws, Charles Avery, Shawn McGee; several nieces and nephews; and one faithful companion Kit-Kat.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday May 28, 2022, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday May 27, 2022, and again on Saturday May 28, 2022, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Love Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen and will follow the service.
