Dora S. Lone

Dora S. (Sizemore) Lone, age 93, of Palmyra, IN, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025.

She was born on November 12, 1932, in Beverly, KY, to Sam and Flora Sizemore. Dora spent many dedicated years working as a custodian for the North Harrison School Corporation in Ramsey, IN. In 1952, she married the love of her life, Earl Lone, and together they built a warm and loving home in Palmyra.

Dora cherished the simple joys of life. She loved spending Saturdays at yard sales, attending church suppers, and sharing time with her treasured friends and family. She was a mother to many and her kind spirit and warm smile were felt by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Lone; her daughter, Donna Powers; and three brothers, Tom Sizemore, Denver Sizemore, and Lester Sizemore.

Dora is survived by her sons, Larry Lone and James Lone; her siblings, Bobby (Elaine) Sizemore, James (Carol) Sizemore, Louella (Clifford) Collett, Polly Warren, and Helen (Chuck) Lockman; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves behind a strong and loving family who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall.
