Christopher Bernard Hansford, age 55, of Pekin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025.
Born on July 30, 1969, in Louisville, Kentucky, Chris was the son of William Hansford and the late Darlene Craven. He was raised in Pekin and graduated from Eastern High School with the Class of 1987. A proud and skilled electrician, Chris worked for over 37 years with IBEW Local 369.
Chris was a member of Southeast Christian Church in Clarksville, Indiana, and lived a life full of faith, hard work, and love for his family. He found joy in the simple things-watching NASCAR, cheering for University of Kentucky basketball, driving Dodge trucks, and tending to the animals on his farm. He especially loved tinkering with things around the property. But above all, his greatest happiness came from being with his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Craven, and stepfather, Rudy Craven.
He is survived by his father, William Hansford; sister, Karen (Steve) Kaps; children, Ashley (Aaron) Frakes, Hayden (Victoria Trepal) Hansford, Kyley Hansford, and Kooper Hansford; grandchildren, Wyatt Frakes, Ryder Frakes, and Silas Frakes; former spouses, Vanessa Hansford and Penny Alexander; and his best friend, Jon Meredith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Chris will be remembered for his generous heart, his love for his family, and the way he brought laughter and light into every room. He will be deeply missed.
