Salisbury, IN Carol Sue (Sappenfield) Stackhouse, age 79,
passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 5, 2020 at her
home. She was born in New Albany, IN on August 6, 1940 to Marvin and Catherine (Haub) Sappenfield. Carol was a
member of the Palmyra (Graceland) Baptist Church. She retired from the Landrum
& Shouse Attorney Law Offices in Louisville, KY as their Office Manager and
Bookkeeper. Carol married Glenn Stackhouse on August 30, 1959. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her daughter Cathy Lea Reed, and her great-
granddaughter Tinsley Grace Bailey. Carol loved spending time with her family
and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed church activities and
was a former VBS and Sunday School teacher. Carol was a great hostess who loved
cooking, cleaning, and talking with her family and friends.Carol is
survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Glenn Stackhouse; one son Lynn Ray (Alice) Stackhouse and her
son-in-law Kevin Reed; one granddaughter
Kristen (Alex) Bailey, three grandsons: Krieg Reed, Matthew (Deanna) Rose, and
Gabriel (Taylor) Rose; also surviving are
six great- grandchildren: Preston and Warren Bailey, Catherine and Emily
Rose, and Icelee and Leona Hembree.Funeral
service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Love Funeral Home in
Palmyra with burial in the Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020 and from 10:00 a.m. untill time of
service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Salem
Community Church for the Cathy Reed Scholarship Fund, 190 W. Becks Mill Road
Unit I, Salem, IN 47167.
