Bertha "Birdie" Mary Hoehn

New Salisbury, IN, Bertha “Birdie” (Kruer) Hoehn, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 03, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Navilleton, IN, to John and Anna (Koopman) Kruer. Birdie married Raymond Hoehn on November 15, 1952. She was member of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, IN. Birdie worked at Schmidt Cabinet and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, bird watching, volunteering her time to help out in soup kitchens, blood drives, teaching Faith Formation Class and received the St. John Bosco Award. Birdie was a warmhearted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Sister Mary Anne Kruer, Dottie Frieders, Daisy Book; five brothers, Louie, Edmund, Johnny, Leo, and Raymond Kruer.

Birdie is survived by six daughters, Geralyn (Mark) Wetzel, Monica Hoehn, Johnna (Mike) Collard, Donna (Carl) Whalen, Tamara (Ed) Pearce, Janine (Dave) Spurlock; five sons, Ray (Jennifer) Hoehn, Mike (Fran) Hoehn, Ron (Lisa) Hoehn, Greg (Rhonda) Hoehn, Daryl (Melissa) Hoehn; thirty-six grandchildren and forty-five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 08, 2021 at St. Michael’s Church in Bradford, IN. Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Church on Friday May 07,2021 from 2p.m. to 8p.m.  and again on Saturday May 08, 2021 from 9.a.m until time of service. The Hoehn family ask that in lieu of flowers and gifts, that donations be made in Birdie’s name to the St. Michael’s “Stations of the Cross” Fund. All services for Mrs. Hoehn will be held at St Michael’s Church located at 11400 Farmers Ln NE, Greenville, IN 47124. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery
