Bernard Edward Schenck, age 85, of Bradford, IN, passed away at his home on September 9, 2023, with family at his side.
He was born on January 8, 1938 to Henry and Agnes (Senn) Schenck in Louisville, KY. Bernard was a graduate of Morgan High School in Palmyra, IN. He married Rosalie Alice (Dethy) Schenck on August 08, 1959. Bernard worked as a farmer, processor, and delivery driver for Gettelfinger Popcorn factory in Palmyra, IN, and later as a Dock Worker for Smith Transfer. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bradford, IN, for many years and then a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Corydon, IN. Bernard enjoyed fishing, camping, card playing, horse shoes, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Agnes Payne; seven brothers, Theodore, Louis, Wilbur, Norman, Stanley, Carl, and James Schenck; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Schenck, one son-in-law, Rick LaFlamme; and one great-grandson, Jaykob Waller,
Bernard is survived by wife, Rosalie Alice Schenck, two daughters, Pamela (Michael) Waller, Rebecca LaFlamme, two sons, Bernard Schenck Jr., Mark (Melissa) Schenck; one sister, Martha Neuner; one brother, Alvin (Connie) Schenck; seventeen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm on Friday September 15, 2023, and again on Saturday September 16, 2023, from 9am until time of service at St. Michaels Church in Bradford, IN.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday September 16, 2023, at St. Michaels Church in Bradford, IN
Interment will take place in the St. Michaels Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Hosparus Nurses and Volunteers for the care they provided, as well as Father Aaron and Father Kyle, for the care of Bernard's spiritual life.
